Autism & Cognitive assessments available
To access a Medicare rebate for part of your session fees, you’ll need a valid referral called a Mental Health Care Plan. This can be arranged by your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. When you visit your doctor, please have GROW Clinical Psychology’s details ready so they can complete the referral for you.
Under the Medicare Better Access program, clients with a Mental Health Care Plan can receive rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Currently, the rebate is $145.25 per session for a Clinical Psychologist or $98.95 for a General Psychologist.
Session fees at GROW Clinical Psychology generally range from $158.95 to $275 (depending on the psychologist's qualificactions and experience).
Depending on your private health insurance, you may also be able to claim a rebate through your Extras cover.
Some of our psychologists accept funding through DVA, TAC, WorkCover, and the NDIS (more details below).
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. This helps us offer your appointment time to another client who may be waiting for support. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance may incur the full session fee, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Please note that Medicare does not cover missed sessions.
A missed appointment can affect not just your progress but also another client waiting for care and the psychologist who has prepared for your session.
GROW Clinical Psychology provides services that may be partly covered by your private health insurance Extras cover, depending on your policy and fund. We work with all major insurers and can process your rebate in the clinic after your session.
Work-related injuries and stress can significantly impact your mental health. If you’re eligible under Victoria’s WorkCover scheme, you may be able to access fully or partially funded psychology sessions. GROW Clinical Psychology can often handle billing directly with WorkCover so you can focus on your recovery. Please check with your WorkCover agent and then contact us to get started. Please be aware not all our psychologists see WorkCover clients.
If you’ve been involved in a transport accident, you may be eligible for psychology sessions funded by the TAC. Road accidents can have lasting psychological impacts, and psychological treatment can help with recovery. In many cases, billing can be managed directly with TAC so you can focus on your recovery. Once again, please be aware not all our psychologists work with TAC clients.
GROW Clinical Psychology proudly supports veterans through DVA funding. Eligible veterans may be able to access therapy at no out-of-pocket cost, as we can bill DVA directly. Please get in touch with us to learn more about how we can support you through DVA funding.
GROW Clinical Psychology is proud to support clients who access psychological services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We believe everyone deserves quality mental health support, and for eligible clients there is often no out-of-pocket cost. Please reach out to us if you’d like to know more about accessing psychology services through the NDIS.
We provide NDIS- supported psychological services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you have a mental illness or psychosocial disability, we provide supports that help you:
do activities of daily living – that is, go about your daily life
take part in your community, your social life, study and work
regain and rebuild skills and confidence in your usual activities of daily living.
Our paediatric psycholgists also provide therapy to children and adolescents who are NDIS self or planned managed participants.
