At GROW Clinical Psychology, we aim to make psychological support accessible by offering a range of funding options, including Medicare, private health insurance, and government-funded schemes.
To access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.
This referral allows eligible clients to claim rebates for psychology sessions under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, which provides up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.
Medicare rebates currently provide:
Clinical Psychologist: $145.25 rebate
General Psychologist: $98.95 rebate
A valid referral is required for all Medicare-rebated sessions.
Our standard psychology fees generally range from:
$158.95 – $220 per session, depending on the psychologist’s qualifications and experience.
After your session, Medicare rebates can be processed on the spot and are typically returned directly to your nominated bank account.
Please bring your Medicare card and payment card to each appointment.
Psychology services may be partly covered under private health insurance extras cover, depending on your provider and level of cover.
Please note that private health insurance cannot be used in addition to Medicare rebates for the same session.
We also support clients accessing psychology through a range of funding programs, including:
Eligible clients may access psychology services through the WorkCover Victoria.
Some clinicians can bill directly, allowing minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.
Clients injured in transport accidents may access funded psychological support through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
We support veterans through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), with eligible clients often receiving fully funded care.
We provide psychology services to self-managed and plan-managed participants of the NDIS, supporting individuals with psychosocial disability, autism, ADHD, and developmental differences.
NDIS-funded support may assist with:
